I have read alot about Winthrop Tool Roller Guides all positive, I am starting to use Alps Roller Bearing Guides on my rods, does anyone have feedback onthese guides, i think Alps has very nice components and their roller bearing guides are not quite as expensive as Winthrop

These guides have an absolutely sharp (clean cut) fit and finish. I have some sets of them in the works now. The opening for crimp or swivel clearance is comparable to the Winthrop rollers. The frame on the Alps is not as heavy duty as the Winthrop and has a totally different appearance. I give them 2 thumbs up, especially on price as they are much less expensive. Should you need Winthrops, let me know. I can get you a good deal.

I got a couple sets of the 50# roller guides in and like Kevin said, they are very clean! Great machining, guide foot prep, coating looks very well done, nice line clearance, etc. They are pretty light weight as well. I haven't ordered the 80# Ball Bearing guides yet, but I will probably be using them as well soon! The tip tops are impressive as well; one piece and solidly made. Where the line exits the roller, the frame is contoured so the line won't rub on a sharp edge, which is a nice feature!
