I thought this might prove helpful as a new series in the magazine:

We'll try to cover everything as we go along.

That's a great idea! I'm just 1 of a bunch of folks that do occasional donation rods for our returning servicemen/women and having new patterns will be sweet. Looking forward to seeing 'em.

Can't wait! I am a Gulf War Vet and have several friends that would probably love to have a nice insignia weave on their rod.

I've done several military insignias already and if I can put some things together I'll be submitting a couple patterns soon. One of the simplest weave patterns I've made is for the Viet Namh service ribbon.

Tom,

I am not worth a poop when it comes to weaving but if I can provide any data that you might need, I would be delighted. I am still a member of the good ole USMC (have been for 18 years) and the wife has the same heritage to her career as does your family ( she is a Chief and has been in 19 years). Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

Thanks,
Tom Kaufmann
