Couple Guide Questions

First question is on AmTack guides GTRLA, I need a guide that is about 2.0625" and one then about 1.125", what ring size would that be?

Second question, I'm wanting to build a 9' 5wt on a Croix blank, but I have never fly fished before. What guide size and setup would you suggest? I'm in the camp that the smallest / lightest items to do the required task is the best.

Thanks in advance.

Dont know about the 1st part but for the fly rod, it will depend on what kind of connections you will be using and if you will be bringing the connections back through the guides while fighting a fish. I just put together a 5 wt for my uncle that uses pretty long leaders and loop to loop connections. I used pac bay minima4 size 5 running guides with a size 12 high frame butt guide and a size 8 to transition between the butt guide and runners. Works great.

A good starting point might be the St Croix site's spacing/sizing charts.

A regular fly tip top has a loop the same size as a size 2 single foot wire guide. Why not just use size 2 sf running guides, the i.d. is a little bigger than a #7 Fuji Alconite ring.
