I am making a black and white eva grips and was wondering if anyone does anything to the white to help keep it white? Can you put anything on the eva to seal it? I was thinking wax may help, but not sure.

I don't know how to seal EVA but if you're doing a black and white grip, you need to find a way to incorporate Billy V's variegated EVA. If I was doing black and white, I'd find a way to use it!

Rob, Don't of a way to seal it. Just keep it clean with a washing after fishing. A soft brush and some soap and water before the slime takes a set is all that is needed.

Rob,

red is right. All you need is some mild soap and a soft brush and or a sponge and you are go to go.

Hi Gents,
All eva and hypalon grips need regular cleaning to keep them looking and feeling their best. They need doing 4 or 5 times a year depepending on the amount of use. I use a nail brush and liquid soap and give them a good scrub. If you haven't done it before try it and you'll be surprised at the amount of crud that comes out of them and how much better they feel and look . Don't know of anything that you can seal them with although Trondak U-40 cork seal seems to work well on the eva inserts I've put in cork grips.

Rob,
Tough problem to keep a white rod handle white all of the time in the boat when you are using it all of the time, handling fish etc. rob.
Sure, anything can be cleaned with a little or a lot of effort, but if your grips that are of the color of the stuff that may get on the grips, the stuff won't show.

No problem at all, I use whote ALL the time in grips, just sand with 320/400 & 600 wet, and follow up with wet denim and it will clean up in a blink
