Need help to identify a rod

I've bought a rod on the estate sale but can't find any information about manufactures and references.
There is printing on the rod:
OUTFITTERS Custom 96 Graphite1050 8'6" Medium 8-17lb LINE 1/4-1OZ LURE
Could it relate to early version of Temple Fork Outfitters TFG STC 865-2 8'6'' MH 8-17 3/8 - 1.0 2 Medium $129.95 [tforods.com] ?

Any suggestions?
Thanks

LLya,

Good luck searching. You might try a "google search" and see if anything pops.

Take care
Roger

If I had the rod I would sure like to have any information I could get on it. Whether I fished with it , hung it on the wall or threw it in the ditch.

There's Nothing wrong with wanting help with research on a rod, I have bought many rods at garage sales and @#$%&, you never know what you have. I have learned in this craft so far that a fishing rod is not only just a fishing rod ...but its also a family heirloom to some an historic piece to others, and just a nice find to an added collection for their rod rack. What ever its for its like anything we humans tend to cherish, like a japanese sword that's been in the family for 300 years it has value to some one!

Although I don't have the answer to your question Ilya, I have done research on a few rods before and come to dead ends because the rod was discontinued as fast as it was made and then forgotten about ! Not say this is your case try a general search on the web and type model number and brand name see what pops up that's how I do it with some good results or frustrating. Good luck !

.....Have you tried some of the antique dealers of old rod and reels. They sometimes can help you out when no one else can. Good luck.. <<<<DON>>>>
