Rather than wasting time trying to make my own and most likely miss something, what does everyone use as a build/cost sheet for each of their builds? I came across one a few weeks ago somewhere online that seemed to have everything covered but forgot to bookmark it.
Thanks, Will Re: Rod data sheet

I'm sort of surprised one hasn't shown up in the library here. Perhaps if it were sent to Tom he would put it up there for everyone Re: Rod data sheet

Tom posted one as a .jpg image in his gallery quite some time ago. I've used it to create one modified for myself.
Search the photo gallery "members" Tom Kirkman. I don't have time to search & post a link right now. It's there for everyone to see and modify. Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: Rod data sheet

A data or build sheet is quite simple to write up really. It all really depends on what type of builds one offers. Blank, guides, handle dimensions/materials etc. are common. However, do you offer decorative embellishments like cross-wraps, feather in-lays, weaves, snake or fish skin inlays? These can be as simple notes on a build sheet or completely spelled out. It all depends on what works for you and your clients. Many custom builders will get diagrams done by clients which can be quite specific as to colors of wraps, trim bands, etc.
I know your seeking help on documentation but when and how that is done is truly a matter of what services you provide and how it helps/works for you. Not one size fits all I'm afraid. Microsoft Excel works quite well for creating something that works for many individuals. Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: Rod data sheet

Hi, Raymond,
My problem was posting an Excel spreadsheet. "It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so." Mark Twain John in Wethersfield, CT Re: Rod data sheet

Tom has asked the webmaster to add it to the library.
It will be called "Rod Building Data Sheet". Thanks all for your interest. "It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so." Mark Twain John in Wethersfield, CT Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
