I'm looking to build a 7' (I'm a short guy) crankbait bait casting rod and am looking
at the Batson E-Glass or CB IM7 series. Is there an advantage to using one vs. the other? The IM7 has a small butt dia. I'm pretty sure the answer is personal preference but thought I'd ask. Any other options I should consider in the same price range ? Re: Crankbait blank

Just like you said, I like glass for most cranking but use graphite for some light baits, topwater and traps. But most 'crank' baits I prefer glass. I am tall and love the glass rod I picked up from Swampland at ICRBE. It was designed and built by Al Jackson and I can't say enough about it. Re: Crankbait blank

Sorry for another post on cranbait rods, there is one below I did not read.
Charles do you know the number of that rod blank? And one other question, which Castaway graphite or composite 7' med action, line 8 - 15, blank would be for crankbaits. I'm not familiar with these blanks. Re: Crankbait blank

Steve please check your email inbox for the address listed on this forum..
The specific blank you request for cranking in the Castaway XP3 line is the 843 listed on the Swampland site. The number of the "glass" blank referenced above is the GTG 801. Very specific design features.
