Sanding Permagloss?
Posted by: William Bennie (---.dsl.bell.ca)

I coated a Fly blank last night. This morning when i checked i noticed a fair amount of dust/hair in the Permagloss. This happened on the second coat. What I am thinking is just wet sand with a fine grit and that should be enough to take care of it? Or should i re-coat after sanding? Any thoughts would be helpful.
Thanks,
Will

You can take a razor blade and gently (dont cut into the wraps)shave off the nibs, the recoat. This avoids the sanding mess.

Sand and recoat the blank. Although I know fly rod builders are concerned with weight. Not sure if another coat will be too much.

get your self a spray bottle and wet all around the rod. The floor and as close to it as you dare with out getting it wet. After about a few hours do it again This way it will tend to hold the dust down

That permagloss should be set well in an hour

Wet sand and check in the Sun Light better light and you will see all in it.

Vacuum often
