Im building a rod dryer set up.
It will have the drying motor mounted on the end and (3) adjustable support stands. I know you want the blank to be horizontally level when its turning & drying. But what should be level ? the center line of the drying motor shaft and rod blank centerline or the top of the blank itself? I build mostly freshwater rods, fly, spin, casting. Any suggestions or information available on building one? I already have a wrapping jig, this is for turning and drying only. Re: Building a rod dryer

Rod blank centerline is about the best you can do.

I used a motor out of a microwave. A motor out of a rotissere out to work too. Should be able to pick one up for next to nothing at a Goodwill or Salvation Army store. Larry I once gave up fishing. It was the most terrifying weekend of my life. Re: Building a rod dryer

Just get the dryer level and you'll be fine. There should not really be any flow by the time the rod hits the dryer anyway. "Reasonably level" was always my motto. LOL Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
