Ferrules Necessary

Are ferrules necessary for all 2 piece rods (surf rods)? I picked up a 11' surf rod at the expo and this will be my first 2 piece build. So i am not sure if i need a ferrule.

Thanks,
Roger
Greensboro, NC

Never mind, found the answer. Modern multi piece rods have integral ferrules.

If it's already 2-pieces, then the ferrule is integral. What make is it?

Try fitting the sections together. It has been many, many years since such blanks required an aftermarket metal ferrule.
