If you static tested it and those guides keep the line off the blank and follow the blank action correctly then its all good. Then again, you could acid wrap it and delete a few guides. Re: Predator Heavy Muskie Rod

Tom,
Do a trial wrap o fthe rod with this setup, and then suspend a 5 gallon of water from the tip of the rod to get a nice deep bend on the rod, and see how the line follows - or touches the rod. My guess is that your setup is about right. I had a 9 foot predator heavy muskie blank in my hand this morning and I wasn't kidding when I suggested that you use a 5 gallon of water to load the blank. This is a very fine, very robust blank. I am sure that it is going to make an excellent rod. Roger Re: Predator Heavy Muskie Rod

I'm building 9' H and XH models for someone, extended to 9'6".
It took about 3/4 of a gallon of water to put a 1/3 flex in the XH. Its a tank for sure. After seeing its flex, and its 9'6" length, I'll be using 11 guides. Spiral wrapped down to a size 7. ................................... Better to have and not need than to need and not have. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
