I put my spinning real seat together on my ice rod and I noticed I put it on upside down, basically is tightens on the real from the bottom. Will this be a problem?
Thanks Jonathan Yergin Re: Oops!

I would guess it is dry now. put the reel on and false cast it and see how it feels to you -- Your rod
I put tape on mine and mark with pen as to how it go on. An arrow tells me this end goes to the tip of the rod Bill - willierods.com Re: Oops!

there's no right or wrong to put on a spinning seat as far as up or down locking is concerned Re: Oops!

if the threads bother your hand cover them with a short piece of shrink wrap Re: Oops!

Spinning rods are built with up-locking or down locking reel seats all of the time. It is up to the preference of the builder as to which way the seat is oriented.
Good luck Roger Re: Oops!

Thanks for the responses. I actually think I may like it this way, it gives the rear of the handle more length to slide into my rod holder. My rod now barely goes in before it hits the real, I am always afraid one good bite and down the ice hole it goes.
Thanks, Jonathan Yergin Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
