has anyone ever used the snake guides for a bass rod? i like the looks of them and want to build a bass rod using them but not to sure about them any advise or experience with them from fellow builders?

Not really designed for that. With the guides up top, snake guides then allow the line to lie on the blank full length.

Brad,
As Tom pointed out, snake guides are not designed for top mounted casting rod guides.

But, I suspect (have never tried it) that if you did a spiral wrap with the guides and used snake on all of the guides except the first, and the tip, that the rod would likely work out all right.
Tie one up - don't coat the guides, and do some casting and retreiving and see how it goes.

If you don't like it cut off the guides, and try other guides.

It doesn't take long to tie on guides, so this would be an easy thing to try , test and report back to us.

Check with Lance at Swampland, he may have some left and I know that Lamiglass used to color... not sure at present though.

CTS had a white available in their color selection, may have to wait for the blank to be colored and sent. FishSticks carries CTS. Saw some different colored Lamiglas blanks at the factory a few months ago.
