Has anyone out there done a tiger wrap with glitter in the finish. Im kind of on the fence with it b/c I'm using metallic threads and don't want to over shadow the purple tiger. Re: Tiger Wrap w/ Glitter

I have used glitter in epoxy over a few types of wraps and finishes. I am sort of on the fence when it comes to the results and it boils down to personal taste as well as what and who the rod is intended for.
On a rod used in clear water sight fishing, obviously not good as you can spook wary fish. Again personal thing: i do not even care for chrome or metallic colored guides on rods used for sight fishing. When you go to a hobby shop to get some glitter get the ultra fine and mix some in with your base coat epoxy, then add the hardener. A little goes a very long way. Enough is about a pin head of it in a drop of epoxy base. Wash your hands after mixing, and then again after applying, else its going to go everywhere. Test on a piece of scrap first and see what you think, i liked it best when it had two coats of TM lite over the top of it so it had some depth. If its your rod, if you like it that is most important. Its a problem to get it all off once its on so be prepared for a rewrap as it gets into the thread if you do not like. Good luck with it.
