Looking for some quick help here. Making an order for a couple rods on MHX-SJ781 blanks with minima seats on them. I was curious if anyone had on OD of this blank at 10" from the butt and 16" from the butt. One will be cut down 6".
Thanks in advance. PS I have emailed mudhole on this with no response. Re: Need a blank OD.

Josh, You can get that measurement at the time you order. All you have to do is ask. Dennis J. Danku (Sayreville,NJ) Re: Need a blank OD.

Are you sure about wanting to cut 6" off of one of these blanks? Taking that much off the butt of the blank will reduce it's power and slow the action to make it fish like an UL-Mod or Slow. I would guess that you'd be happier with a different blank, or maybe an SJ720 that would probably have as much power as a cut down 781 blank, but would have a fast action. Re: Need a blank OD.

Like they said just put a note on the order and Mudhole will fit the seats for you. I would also second that the SJ720 may work better than a SJ781 cut down 6 inches. Re: Need a blank OD.

Thanks for the input guys. I have built on both of these blanks before but don't own a rod on the 781. I have cut up to 3" off of the rear end of a blank before, but didn't realize the action would be influenced so much by going a few inches more. Re: Need a blank OD.

if you have the CCS system set up you can measure the points you want to cut and how the blank will react and action, lure weight - before you cut. Bill - willierods.com Re: Need a blank OD.

I do not know if that will vot. the warranty but it will not up the action of the rod if of the butt, I had to cut 6"off of rod because no one made a rod that was rite rod,all the rods close but no ciger, so I got a idea take it off the top and it tured into a very good match to the rod I was matching Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
