sanding epoxy between coats

is it proper to lightly sand first coat of epoxy before applying second coat? thanks again

Not unless you've got some problems with the first coat, or have waited an excessive amout of time between the first & second coat.

If you do the second coat within 24 - 30 hrs you do not need to sand, if longer, best to scuff up with sand paper of scotch pad.

To say sand is a harsh word. You only need to lightly abrade the surface to make a water break free surface. Basically you want to remove the shine .
