The specs on these two RX8 blanks look almost identical. Same blank or is there a difference? I notice the walleye blank is cheaper. Re: What's the diff between XSB802.75 and XSW68MX?

I don’t know about this blank, but it is common for the same blank to be sold in different series with a different part number. Many flipping sticks are also sold as light saltwater blanks, and popping blanks are commonly sold as crankbait blanks. Re: What's the diff between XSB802.75 and XSW68MX?

Marty,
I have not built either of the blanks in question; but I have built numerious RX8 Bass XSB822.5 as Drop Shot rods for clients. I have had more people come to me through "word of month" referals wanting that drop shot rod built for them. Rainshadow's XSB822.5 is the best d/s rod out there according to my customers. I guess, I am going to have to build one for myself! 'Hope this was a little helpful, althrough I did not address your question. You could call the supplier and ask them. They could take them out and compare them ?? Bill - willierods.com Re: What's the diff between XSB802.75 and XSW68MX?

I am glad you asked. The retail difference is $10.91, with the walleye version being cheaper. I have built several of each. They seem to measure pretty close. I will say that the 68MX measured slightly faster, but slightly less powerful than the 802.75. I feel that it is enough of a difference that I am choosing the 802.75 for my new jigworm rod.
I'm doing a 68MX for a customer right now with Gudebrod medium gray wraps with no CP, and a bit of ultra-fine multi color glitter in the finish. It really looks sharp. The thread disappears. I'll try to get some decent pictures this week. This complete rod weighs 2.5 ounces with a split TN grip and Fuji Ti SIC guides. Hopefully someone at Batson can give more info on these two blanks. The XSB843 is similar in power and speed. They are all light and fast. They might be done on the same mandrel with subtle changes in the layup. That's a guess, since I know very little about building a blank. _________________________________________ "Angling is extremely time consuming.
