Guides shifting?

Hey guys,
I hope this isnt too serious... i had wrapped my guides this tuesday, and they were fine, i picked up the rod today to static test it again. The rod is acid wrapped. The stripper guide and the transition guide seemed to have shifted to the left a lot i can move them back to place and i was gonna wait till this weekend to epoxy em'. are they not wrapped tight enough or something?

Feedback is appreciated!
Gabr

How easy can you move them? Should be barely able to reposition slightly.

Guides should be wrapped snug, not tight. Moving them should be possible but should require some firm pressure.

Uh, now that touch em again, i see that they are too easy to move. i guess when i put the rod in the rack in my house the two guides were up against my wall. that makes sense to me... im gonna re wrap cuz its too easy to move. thanks for the answers guys. I really appreciate it.

Wrapping by hand can be difficult to keep the tension consistant. If the blank is slidin gup and down in teh vee blocks as you are wrapping, it's possible that you lost tension while wrapping, even though th ethension on the thread coming off the spool was tight enough

Thanks Billy.

IT was originally tight, and i could only slightly move em. now i can do a 360 with my transition guide. i took em off, gunna check em all and re wrap the bad 1s.
thanks

Gabe,
As one of the others mentioned, double check all of the guides for loose wraps.
If a couple of guides are loose, it might be necessary to rewrap all of the guides.

Thanks Roger.
All the other ones are fine. Just those two. im guessing either when the rod was rested on the floor and the reel put pressure on those two guides, or when it was in my rod rack, the guides were pressed up against the wall.
Thanks

YOu migh tbe losing tension when you do the tie off as well. SOmewhere something is going wrong, and it's a common problem when people start building. I'll go over more basic stuff for you on Sunday. DOn't do ANYTHING to this rod, just bring it with teh guides loose.
