I am rebuilding a couple of my old favorite spinning rods.I originally used "Cabela's" 2 part finish on the wraps and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for removing the residule finish from the rod blank before I re-wrap the new guides. I did not coat the entire blank, only the wraps. Re: Removing 2 part rod finish

Best I found was a bit of heat and scrapping it off. Re: Removing 2 part rod finish

Use the search feature on this site for "epoxy removal" and you will find a number of threads on the subject. Be sure to use at least the last year period. Re: Removing 2 part rod finish

I second Mike's suggestion. This is the method that I use. By scraping, it is very easy to just scrape the area of concern, rather than removing too much finish as may be the case with other methods.
