Double sided tape?

I can't find it now, but someone asked a question about using double sided tape in rod building. For what do you use it? I never have and I'm wondering how it's used in the process. I always learn something new on the forum.
Thanks,
Bruce

Weaving, it holds your thread in position around the rod blank. You can lift the thread and reposition many times as needed.

Thanks. I never tried a weave before, but I have done some feather inlays.

Merrick sales double sided tape. I always use it for decorative wraps so the threads don't slip/move. It is more expensive but my time is worth it not to have to re-do it because of slipped threads.

The double sided tape can be used to hold down the treads on a butt wrap. Most were taught to use a small piece of masking tape on each thread, On a closed wrap the tape will be stacked so high the thread wont touch the blank. The use of carpet tape drastically reduces the thickness of the end of the wrap making it easier to tie down.
