Hi Everyone,
I am wanting to do a trolling rod built in a more classic style. I am going to be using a mesquite wood butt section and classic looking components so I am trying to see what my options are for blanks. Where can I get a nice 50 to 80 lb. trolling blank in the 6 foot range that is NOT gloss black? Thanks so much, Jeff Shields www.shieldski.com Re: Need a classic looking rod blank

Give Rick's Rods a shout. They have a bunch of vintage Fenwick fiberglass blanks for sale. I know they have some short trolling blanks but I don't know the ratings.

Jeff everyone is giving you the right advice, just to add to it Seeker also make a honey colored blank. As far as trolling goes no one makes a better blank than Calstar for that function.

Ricks Rods does not have any Fenwicks that will handle #80 line. I used to build rods for them so I know. I have one or two old brown Fenwicks or maybe J. Kennedy/Fishers that are suited for this somewhere amongst my old Fenwicks and Sabre blanks. Re: Need a classic looking rod blank

Lamiglas come in black, honey and white. Just put the first letter of the color at the front of the part number. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
