Got a guy who wants a slop/frog rod. Only catch is he wants it to be a spinning setup. 7 footer, 50lb braid, fishing for Minnesota large mouth with top water frogs in the muck.
He'll be running a 2500 shimano. I am looking for blank suggestions. Do I just go with a mag bass topwater style blank and build it up for spinning? Or are there some other options I am unaware of? Thanks in advance. Re: Slop rod

Designed just for this purpose!
Doesn't mater whether spinning rod or bait casting. If he is stuck on 7ft, you could cut 2 inches off the butt. But that may void the warranty you would have to ask Batson about that. RX8+C865, 7'2", Hvy Fast ,12-25, 3/8-1 1/4oz, 2.52oz., Satin Black, Jig / Slop / Frog Re: Slop rod

If the warranty is no good with 2" off the blank, explain that to him to make sure you don't eat it if he breaks it. Bill - willierods.com Re: Slop rod

I got an 874 last year and wasn't able to keep it in my hands very long... Was sold the first day I took it out with me. You will NOT be dissapointed. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
