how do you straighten out a rod tip that was bent after being left in a carr too long? Re: bent tip

The only way I know of is to lean it in a corner facing the opposite direction of the bend. This will take some time, but like I said, it's the only way I know of. A nice "warm or sunny" room would help.

You could hold it to a table or something similar, with bend up . Put a slight weight tied to it. Then very light heat. Don't try to get it straight all at once, take your time, lite weight with slight heat, then let cool. May need to do a few cycles of warm & cool.
