Cork Reaming Question

I just picked up some ice rod handles for some award rods that I'm putting together for some award rods I'm making for the fishing club I fish with....
Problem is that the bore is too small to fit over more then the tip of the rod and it's too small to use my smallest cork reamer in even for the tip of it. I want to drill it out with just a drill but I don't have a long enough drill bit to get through even if I go from each side to do it. Any ideas? Re: Cork Reaming Question

Go to a hardware store and buy a 12" drill bit? Or, if you have a tip from an old rod that would fit the cork you could epoxy some coarse sandpaper to it and make a small reamer. A rat-tail file also works, and can be put in a drill.

If its that small, some brass rod from big box store, epoxy and grit. Just be VERY sure to get it all out afterward from the hole, else when you test fit, you will scratch your blank. Old rod top as mentioned above is best as its tapered: but when you are talking real thin brass might be easier to put into a drill. Re: Cork Reaming Question

Bryan,
Chuck has it right, Just go to a hardware store and buy a 12 inch rod bit that is of the right size for the blank that you are going to use. Roger Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
