I made some carbon fiber switch grips and used flex coat brand cp to help glue down some long saddle hackles on the grips. then put another coat of epoxy on them. They look great til you take the a bright light or sun light. All around the hackle you can see a dull haze from the CP. is there any brand of cp that won't show?
Thanks Bob Re: Clear CP?

Did you let the CP dry well. At least over night. Bill - willierods.com Re: Clear CP?

i've had that problem too.. CP doesnt seem to show the dull haze if it is on thread wraps, but when used on the blank over the decal, i can see the dull haze under the sunlight.. I have stopped using CP and now use Gudebrod's Rod restorer for my 'CP' needs. It helps to keep the color of the thread, but doesnt not seem to give me that haze. I have used it for the last 8 or so personal rods i've built - Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day.. Teach a man to fish, he'll be broke! Edited 1 time(s). Cason's Crystal Clear color preserver goes on clear and stays clear. I would recomend the water-based formula however for applying
over decals as the solvent based formula could damage some decal media. Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
