I'm planning on making a custom rod for a friend of mine in Canada. He catches 80+ lb halibut routinely and perfers a 6' rod length. I'm thinking of making it a spiral wrap. What blank would you suggest for this rod and guide part numbers and sizes.
Thanks Jim Re: Halibut Rod Blank Suggestion

I live just south of the Canadian Boarder and you could say I know a bit about Halibut fishing up here. I use the TS66MH 6'6" Spiral Wrap

James,
The Batson blank is awsome. Mike or Bill turned me on to it a few years back and it is outstanding. I have the MH and the H and have reeled in 147 pound flatty on the H and a 92 pounder on the MH. Highly reccomended. Tight Lines, John Re: Halibut Rod Blank Suggestion

The Seeker is unreal.. I think that the 60XH could pull a tank. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
