2011 Slide Show
Posted by: Tom Kirkman (Moderator)

Those of you who attended the 2010 event may remember the slide show which played both days on the large screen TVs in the Showplace hall and Atrium. It contained history, custom rods and custom rod builders. Here is your chance to be part of the 2011 slide show.

I am accepting photos of both custom rods and custom rod builders. There are some specifics, however.

Photos of yourself should have the International Symbol for Custom Rod Building shown somewhere in the photo. I also need your city and state.

Photos of your custom rods should be tastefully photographed (the slideshow is a very high quality production) and therefore try not to photograph your rods on top of dog beds, your wife's coat, etc. Backgrounds of solid colors, sea, sky, etc., are good. So too are backgrounds of components, threads, etc., but be careful not to make the background too busy - the point is to highlight your custom rod. I will include all that respond, but I do require good, well staged photos in order for them to be included.

Large, high quality jpeg photos are fine and can be emailed to me at rodmaker@earthlink.net.

Each person that participates will receive a free DVD containing the slide show, at the Expo.

Tom,
I am reading that to mean that you are replacing last year's photos and we need to submit new ones or are these in addition?

No, if you want to stick with what you submitted last year, just let me know and I'll include it again. But if you want something new in there, submit it.

Tom,

Is it acceptable for our rod photos to include our business logo/name of business if that is part of a component included in the photo (i.e., logo on rod tube, etc.)?

Thanks,

Not now. I have no idea where the presentation is at the moment. Still mixed in somewhere with all the Expo stuff I think. Far too large to put on the web.
