I have learned of this development just yesterday, and I have just faxed them a rather large order today.
We look forward to once again maintaining a complete inventory of their threads.
We'll see how it goes!

I loaded up on Black Electra and size A Garnet while I could. I guess I moved too fast.

That is good news. I would be interested in seeing if their quality improves. Being fairly new to this perhaps I am wrong but I found too much variation in color from one spool of the same color to the next. I am sure most rod builders want consistency of color. Perhaps the large suppliers could follow up on this and let us know their opinion of the color consistency

Any idea when the general public will be able to find it through one of our online sponsors?

Where have you heard of Gudebrod reopening? I kept track of it when it closed down and was evening emailing a writer from the local Pottstown Mercury. Her segment was titled, "Gudebrod closed for good after banks foreclose," although it did say there was a buyer of the thread division. I'm a little skeptical.

They are not reopening as Gudebrod. The division that made the thread has been renamed and relocated and will be operated by some o the former owners.

Devin Murakami ,
Are you from the Pottstown area ? I grew up in Pottstown and remember when Gudebrod was the "only" fishing line to have .

Sorry Larry. I'm not from Pottstown, born and raised in California.
I was attempting to figure out what was going down before it happened.
I have however seen a spool of gudebrod line. One of the guys at the shop brought it in and has hopes it might be worth something one day.

Devin Murakami
Gudebrod also made "Aetna" guides which are still popular today , along with a line of lures , Gudebrod was well known in the 70's & 80's . I used their products on some of my first atempts at rod re-building . Larry
