I need some advise from all the great Rod Builders out there. I have a rod in my possesion that need a guide replaced. The insciption reads USA Hand crafted,5'5" 20-50# . The guide that needs replacing is a 30mm.All the guides are double foot, double wrapped on an under wrap.
My question being, I have never double wrapped any guides before. My thinking is that you wrap up the guide then jump back up on the thread and wrap back down, but how do you tie it off. Do you tie off just before you get to the end of the bottom wrap, or do you jump off the bottom wrap and make a few more wraps then tie off. Any and all advise is greatly appreciated that's for sure.
OOPS, one other thing. Also in the insciption reads G2040-A. If that should happen to mean size A thread I don't believe it!!<<<<DON>>>>

You can do it one of two ways - either make two separate overwraps, with separate tie-offs, or just wrap up towards the eye, push back one thread towards the foot and then wrap back down and tie off just prior to making ends meet. Not at all hard to do. The tie-off is the standard tie-off that you always use. Nothing new about it.

Thanks Tom, that sounds like a good plan to follow.I think that I'm going to try using the single thread run. Thanks again!!
