Screwed up epoxy on the signature section of a 5 wt SC III (again) and had to sand it off. To make matters worse, I got into the colored surface, and it was for a very particular client. I have never painted a rod before and would like some suggestions. Also what color should I look for to approximate the olive color of the SC III? Re: Paint for StCroix III

I don't believe you will have much success in trying to blend a paint repair. Why don't you wrap the area in question with black, epoxy the thread, do a new inscription over that area and put a final coat of epoxy to protect the signature. This will leave you with clean edges and the entire matter will look intentional. Re: Paint for StCroix III

I notice you have a ( again ) in your post. I f this happens often and you are using a high build finish - switch to a light finish. Put on light coats and then --- leave it alone -- it will do it's thing.
Also many times if you don't like the way it comes out a second coat usually fixes it. Bill - willierods.com Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/26/2010 10:08AM by bill boettcher. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
