I will be putting together a few Forecast 9ft 10wt rods and i have some questions. What is your favorite brand of thread and why? also i assume i should use a size A. let me know if i should use another size. Thanks again for all your help! Fish Hawk - there are other good ones - but Fish Hawk is really good stuff, and they have the best metallics too! It's all you'll find in my rod shop from here on.
No - you don't need size A - I wrap a lot of rods with D because it's easier to work with, and they all turn out very nice. Good Luck, Marc Re: Favorite brand of rod thread?

Tough question - I have no particular "favorite" manufacturer but tend to use these
IMO best is NYLON is best Gudebrod - may be again if / when they restart. American Tackle Pro Wrap is very good National Thread good - available in bulk (4 oz spools) Polyester (I don't like for guide wraps) Madiera Robison - Anton Silk (primarily for bamboo) Pearsals (2/0) very smooth FishHawk (3/0) - easy to work with Metallic Gudebrod HT Robison - Anton (very thin) FishHawk Braids: Gudebrod (thickest) Superior (Razzle Dazzle - thinnest) YLI (Candle light) NCP National Thread American Tackle (have not tried FishHawk) Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
