Happy Thanksgiving all!
I am looking for some suggestions from some of you that are very experienced with Musky Rod builds. I am looking to build a 6'6" - 7'0" musky spin rod. What blank do you think I should go with? Thanks, Paul Re: Musky Spin blank recomendation

Pual,
Take a look at te Batson Rainshadow line up of muskie blanks>> [www.batsonenterprises.com]. I am sure you will find something in this line up that will fill your needs. I own, use, and really like the Batson IMU876 really well as an "all around" type rod. Mine is a casting rod, but would do very well built as spinning.
Also the IMU69XH-TC from Batson would be a good choice. I've built a few of these as well. One thing about Musky rods, you REALLY NEED to decide where your lure weights need to be. Rods differ greatly ......and choosing the right one for what you're doing is a must. If I can help you choose, just shoot me an email and we'll discuss it. I don't sell any blanks or anything like that, but I'm a musky nut. DR Re: Musky Spin blank recomendation

What line and lures are you planning on using? Hard to make a specific recommendation without that info.
That being said, I prefer St. Croix's musky rods and blanks. They are in the heart of musky country and they know how to build a great musky rod. However, I honestly think you can't go wrong with any of the muskie blanks that the sponsors to the left carry. jeremy Re: Musky Spin blank recomendation

I built my IMU72MH from Rainshadow as a spinner and love it, don'y know how big your muskies are but mine handled Dorado and Tuna to 45 pounds without a hitch. Great blank and the Titanium Chrome color is top notch. Re: Musky Spin blank recomendation

I'd go with the Batson IMU72MH for sure or even the IMU70M, depending on lure size - either will handle any musky you'll hook. Generally with musky spinning rods you are not throwing as big of baits as casting rods - try to throw a Mag Dawg all day on a spinning rod and you'll need to have your index finger re-tipped.
Good Luck, Marc Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
