Since I mostly build fly rods I need some help here.
I've got a regular customer who wants a 7' UL spinning rod
He's probably going with the MHX 7' 1 pc blank

here's what I'm thinking for guides
Fuji alconite
byag 25
byag 16
byag 10
bunag 8
glag 7
blag 6 the rest of the way

does this sound right/make sense?
what should I change if anything?
Thanks

You really do not need all those sizes. I would look at like the 25, 16, 8 then 6 the rest of the way out to the tip. Look at the library for the new guide concept.

Personally I would stay away from the BUNAG style guide, I have never had much luck with them myself.

I agree with Mike. I rarely use more than 3 sizes on any rod.

I use 25Y - 16Y - 10Y - 7V - and then 3.5mm flys up to the tip.

Whether you use 3 or 4 spinning guides to start, put those 3/4 guides (on the rod) up against a straightedge and make sure they line up. See the new concept primer article in the library on this site for details.

The line path will tell you what sizes to use.

You might try 20, 10, 5.5 and then 3's to the tip and see what you think of that
