Does anyone have any experience with blank development, from a customer side of things. How would a person go about getting a custom blank developed. Who would you contact, and if you have experience with this, are you looking at a cost in the hundreds/thousands/tens of thousands for development before picking a model to bulk order? Once upon a time.... I looked into this. At this time I think you can contact either Joe Meehan (American Tackle) or Johnny Kuehn (Angler's Roost) - perhaps some others as well. Cost per unit will be predicated on several factors (number of blanks, scrim(modulus), binder, length, number of sections). Best to work it out one-on-one with one of the sponsors. Edited 1 time(s). Almost any blank manufacturer will consider private labeling or even designing blanks for you. The cost is ultimately determined by what you want and what they have to do in order to deliver it. Can you make do with something they already offer or have available in a stock model? If you desire something they don't normally make and thus a prototype of a new model has to be made, the cost is going to be substantially higher. In the latter case, you'd generally be looking at taking a large number of such blanks - anywhere from 25 to 100 per model depending on how much work the manufacturer has to involve themselves in to get what you want.
