Fly rod kit for high school shop project

My son has chosen to build a fly rod for his high school shop project and needs to buy a kit. His teacher is suggesting something in the 8 to 9 foot length in a 4 or 5 wt. Any suggestions for this first time builder? He would like spend around $100.

I'd call the folks at MudHole - they have several MHX fly rod kits that will meet your price-break.
