Fly rod kit for high school shop project

My son has chosen to build a fly rod for his high school shop project and needs to buy a kit. His teacher is suggesting something in the 8 to 9 foot length in a 4 or 5 wt. Any suggestions for this first time builder? He would like spend around $100. Re: Fly rod kit for high school shop project
