I had the pleasure to build on the "downrigger" 9'0 blanks. They are one of, if not, the best board rods I have built to date. I can see all of my copper and leadcore rods utilizing these blanks. I did build one of the 8'6" blanks up for a downrigger application and it worked just as advertised with a great parabolic looking bend in the rigger and good power to lift fish up from the depths quick. For our Great Lakes trolling, most guys prefer 7' one piece rods, so I am hopefull for an addition to the lineup. Having that blank would make MHX a one stop shopping blank series for great lakes trolling. Re: Put Salmon & Steelhead on Notice with All New MHX Rod Blanks

Thomas,
we would recommend the SWB956-Blend and SWB967-Blend for a light and heavy bouncer. That is what these blanks started as to begin with. Todd [www.mudhole.com] Regards, Todd Vivian Mud Hole Custom Tackle todd@mudhole.com Re: Put Salmon & Steelhead on Notice with All New MHX Rod Blanks

Hey Todd, Great to see MHX for salmon.
Why no longer rods in medium power? I am looking for something comparable to Sage CT2106. 10'6" 8-17lb test, 1/4-1oz lure. For west cost medium sized rivers we need a decent length for casting, but relatively fast action with a sensitive tip. The ST1355-MHX looks too heavy (tip size 6), and the rest are super light. Not sure who uses 4-8 lb test for salmon (??). The specs for ST1144F-MHX look okay if it were 1 foot longer. Re: Put Salmon & Steelhead on Notice with All New MHX Rod Blanks

The 1204F is a fast action.
No 3 pc. in the float rods, in the past have heard nothing but complaints about doing 3 pc. due to inability to break down in equal sections. Todd Regards, Todd Vivian Mud Hole Custom Tackle todd@mudhole.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
