Baseball weave

Any one have a pattern for doing a single color baseball weave that shows the seams of the ball coming down vertically on both sides.

I tried putting an "O" on graph paper and planning in the seams to look like this ")" on the left and this"(" on the right but could not get it to work out right

Nice wrap. Red white and blue works great together

Could not sleep at all. Drew it out on graph paper again and did a 14 thread wrap.

Just posted it in photos

You're on the right track - you just need more pattern threads (large pattern size) to round things out a bit and knock off the sharp corners.

Thanks Tom. Yes definitely a larger pattern. That will also allow me to leave a little more space between the seams.

Any one know where I can get a renzetti wonder weaver used?

In addition to what tom stated about rounding it out more and removing sharp corners, how about trying it inverted? Make the ball white with stripes black. Just a thought.

Sean yes I can do that. White ball with red stripes would look cool too.
Thanks

Doc I did that all in "D" just to practice it. Are you saying to add an extra pass of black or increase the overall size from 14 threads to say 16 or so?
Thanks
Jim

No Jim what I am saying is use something like A for the pattern thread and D or E for the Wrap thread. Just one of the anomalies of weaving that if the patter on paper or grid looks good then you need to use different sizes to get the appropriate shape. If you do increase the numbers of theads you will find it easier to get the more rounded shape. I did a happy face with all the detail in 30x30. If you use A and D it is really small. Just a thought. If you want drop me an email and I will try to help as much as I can.

Thanks Doc. I understand what you are saying now. And I saw the difference in one of your photos when you did a YFT with 4 different thread combos. Thanks for the help

Jim
