Either, the high sets faster with less wait & working time, the low sets slower with more time to wait and more time to work the marble.

The THICKER the epoxy the less the colors will run together. The THINNER the epoxy the more the colors will intermingle and combine. Re: Marbling

If you like the marbling to look more like marble stone might, use the thinner. If you like pulling the drops to create details more like flames use a thicker faster setting epoxy. I like the stone look more than the drawn out look, but you can achieve the blended look with the thicker epoxies by using a bit of heat.
If you use powder pigments, I would either mix the powder into just part A of the epoxy before adding the part B or use a VERY small amount of solvent to blend with the powder before adding it to the epoxy. If you use Testors paint let it settle well and drain off the excess fluid otherwise you will end up with a thinner consistency tinted epoxy than you may want even though you used a high build / thicker version to start with and it may blend together more than you wanted. So sometimes it is a bit of a juggle if you use different coloring methods for the marbling job as you may need to mix and let the Testors epoxy blend sit for a few minutes and then mix a new batch for epoxy tinted with powder and then proceed with marbling the rod. Dropping some clear into the marbling between the colors helps add dimension into the effect. my 2cents Re: Marbling

Thanks for all the advise I did a lot better this time. But still have a lot to learn. Starting with thinking ahead first on how I will match guide wraps ( I'm hanging and shaking my head here) Gulf Shores AL Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
