Wrapper tension

Has anyone tried to fit a tension device to the PacBay wrapper.
I like to use it as a hand wrapper sometime but would like to have a system where I can hold the chuck whilst I tie off a wrap etc. I know I can leave the belt on but it worries me I might be damaging the motor by forcing it around.
Any thoughts?
Philip

You're not hurting the motor by doing that. I routinely start and finish wraps by hand and never unchuck or unbelt the headstock from the motor.

I agree with Tom, nothing will be hurt by leaving the belt on for tension. I have done it for years and no issues.

I've been looking at removing the drier motor and replacing it with a tensioned pulley, using the one from the drier motor itself and mounting on something similar maybe to the thread tensioner, has anyone tried this maybe?
