Does anyone have an IST 1084 steelhead blank ??
If so could I trouble you to give me the weight and center of mass of the assembled blank ? I'm doing some research on an article written by Emory Harry for Rodmaker and require some additional data on the subject blank he based his measured performance results on. The center of mass is the point at which the rod balances. Thanks, Eugene Moore Re: IST 1084 Steelhead blank

Rob,
The reference in the article is IST 1084 Steelhead 9' 2-piece intermediate modulus. I'm not familar with the blank or if there are multiple manufacturers using the same model designation. He did use Forecast guides so Batson would be a good assumption. Eugene Moore Re: IST 1084 Steelhead blank

Eugene,
The blank I used was a Rainshadow IST1084 from Batson Enterprises but I do not think that you want the center of mass and weight for an assembled rod. I think that you want both for the raw blank. The center of mass and weight will change depending upon how the rod builder assembles the rod. For example, the location, number and type of guides will have a significant affect on both the center of mass and the weight. Re: IST 1084 Steelhead blank

Emory,
You're correct. Bare blank prior to any additional components. Eugene Moore Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
