My son in-law wants me to build him a tsunami surf rod, would appreciate
any invoice on this blank as I have zero experience with this company?

I don't think they sell there blanks. If I were you I'd get a used one, that's blank is in good condition but might have a broken guide or something. Then strip it down and make it a custom

Does he want a Tsunami, or does he want something that's similar to a rod he knows and likes?

I ask because while Tsunamis are decent budget factory rods, you can do way, way, way better with a custom. He may just be telling you this because the Tsunami is all he knows. If you get into detail with how he fishes, why he likes this Tsunami, you should be able to find a blank that's much better than what he's used to, and with components and how they're set up, you'll blow away any factory rod. You'll be doing him a big favor by exploring what he wants a fishing rod to do, and then using your knowledge of building fishing rods to get him something better than a budget factory rod. Don't necessarily take what he says at face value - many, many fisherpersons lack the vocabulary and knowledge to articulate exactly what a builder needs to know to build a good fishing rod. As the sharpie, it's your job to know what questions to ask to get this information out of him.

And you can absolutely do it, even if you've never built a surf rod before. Regardless of how much experience you have, you can do better - way better - than an $80 factory rod. All it takes is dedication, perseverence, and the ability to pay attention to detail.
