Lamiglas 5'6" ISW-H

I just got a Lamiglas 5'6" ISW blank that is rated at 30-50 Lb. and was wondering if it was going to be too heavy for what i had in mind. I ordered this blank about a week ago and was considering using it more as an offshore type setup but wanted to do a split grip with a spiral wrap and was trying to figure out if anyone had ever attempted this with such a short heavy blank.

The split grip may cause you a bit of a problem on an offshore rod if it rest in the rod holder very much IMO. Here we tend to lean toward the hard slick grip it seems to be easier to slip from the holder while under pressure. If your site casting forget what I said
