Ring Size American Tackle

Does anyone know of a chart that gives the ID size for guide rings from American Tackle? I received my (first time) order of American Tackle NIF guides and it seems that the ring size for the #5 single foots are VERY small compared to another brand of single foots. No I have not measured them yet but something seems to be incorrect here. I'm heading up to measure now. I was to believe that the guide size refered to the inside diameter in millimeters. Have I been hanging over the epoxy to long?
This is my second job, the first one I got fired!!!

The guide size is the ID of the frame, not the insert.

Ok,
But that doesn't make any sense. How are you to determine what size the actual "guide size" is. I'm sure the larger the guide the thicker the insert is. So if I wnat an actual #5 guide how am I to figure that? I guess there's no industry standard here.

The inserts are all different sizes based on what they are made of. Thats why the measurment is on the frame not the insert. If you are looking for 5mm in the insert, you are going to have to get some guides and measure them yourself to see which one will be 5 mm.

Thanks for your input Mike. That's what I figured I would have to do. As you prob figured this is my first time using this type of guide. I really like the look of this style of guide. Well here I go I'm going to invest some dollars here for a stock of guides. I'm just a "keep it simple" kind of guy.

Thanks again Mike.
