Making a Hand Wrapper

Hi Guys....I am almost finished making my first rod-wrapper. I kind of just made a larger/sturdier version of my FlexCoat wrapper with some add-ons that I saw in some pics here.....like a tool shelf etc.

I borrowed a router with a 9/16 dovetail bit from a friend and cut the groove for the sliding thread guide OK but...the slide from my flexcoat rapper is too small and pops out of the groove. I am not sure how to use the router to make the right size slide to hold the eye...I am guessing that there is a simple method but my limited carpentry skills.....This is strictly being done on my picnic table with some clamps and a straight edge. No router table or anything....

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Joe

If you have a Table saw or chop saw you can cut it you can or you can carve it then sand it

Just take about a 1"x1" piece of wood and cut or sand to a triangular shape that will slide into the groove and screw in a small eye nook into the top

Just shim up the thread guide until it gets reasonably tight enough not to slip out of the dove tail. Any thin material glued to the edges should tighten it up enough.

Thanks guys....I took the easy route. I brought the whole rig across the street to my friend Kenny the carpenter and he cut it by eye on his radial arm saw.....it was very easy for a pro! I am almost finished except for sanding and finishing.

Thanks all.
