I was considering using a fuji plate reel seat and was thinking about screwing it on to, or epoxying to a wooden handle. Has anyone seen this and can think of any reason why this would be a bad idea. I'm using a really nice piece of zebra wood for the handle and I don't want to cover any of it with thread. Re: Screwing on a Plate Reel Seat

Stan Maclean has done something similar with a tubular handle I believe...so has Pat Vincent...should work out well. Scott Sheets www.smsrods.com Re: Screwing on a Plate Reel Seat

As Scott said Stan has done some, but with cork
[www.rodbuilding.org] and Pat with graphite tubing so It should work as well with wood Re: Screwing on a Plate Reel Seat

I've epoxied plate seats on cork, no reason it wouldn't work with wood. I've used inserts to screw reels on also, but like the plate seats better. Re: Screwing on a Plate Reel Seat
