I think what Joey is looking at is the MHTHT-920 or 980 and the retail pricing on that is $52.45 on the 920 and 56.95 on the 980 tube in 60" lengths.

Rule of thumb...graphite tubing runs about a buck an inch from most suppliers. Re: 60'' woven graphite handle at mudhole

Or, make your own for about 10 cents an inch. Just one other alternative.

I guess i better shop around some. The 1 inch sleeving alone has been costing me about 20 cents an inch, then you still need epoxy. Not to mention, the cost of the heat shrink has gone through the roof. Re: 60'' woven graphite handle at mudhole

If you are putting shrink wrap over your handles -- why use the tubing - expensive ? Use a cheap cork handle and wrap it . Bill - willierods.com Re: 60'' woven graphite handle at mudhole

Mrs. Boettcher
In several of your posts I have been a little confused by some of the responses you suggest. This morning while reading your response, it became clear why it was happening. The two posts directly above yours are NOT in reference to putting heat shrink handle material over graphite tubing as part of the handle. But to use heat shrink tubing as part of the process for making this own graphite tubing for handles, as opposed to buying it pre-made, thereby saving some money. The confusions are coming from the fact that you do not subscribe to RodMaker Magazine, or subscribed after the articles on how to do such were printed couple years ago. There were 3 separate articles done on the process or different processes on how to build graphite tubing handles. You might want to consider subscribing, and possible buying some additional back issues so you can be up on the latest info in rod building and so when you reply to a thread it would be beneficial info to those reading. This may also eliminate some criticism by those wondering why your replies have nothing to do with the threads they are posted in Re: 60'' woven graphite handle at mudhole

No Steve
That is not why. He in one post mentioned - shrink tubing - so any one would figure he was putting some kind of shrink over his handles And sense he was asking about graphite tubing I thought that is what he was doing. The only reason I am not getting the mag is I am not selling many rods and I do not put out money unless I have more of it coming in to justify spending. My input has to be more then my output. Hay I like money too. Bill - willierods.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
