G-Lite guides?

There is a new type of guide on the 2010 Grey's rods out of the UK. They look like PB Minimas but have a very fine, thin ceramic ring. Grey's calls them G-Lite Ultralight SIC. Beautiful guides and appear to be very lightweight due to the extremely thin SIC ring. I see no reason why any ceramic ring needs to be as thick as most are. These seem to be a better idea. Am I missing something?

Does anyone here know where they are getting these? I doubt they make their own guides so there must be a 3rd party source somewhere. Thanks in advance.

Batson Enterprises offers an ALPS guide with a thin ring. They may not be the same guide but they are very thin/very light

Thanks, but the ALPS are still a lot thicker and heavier than the G-Lite guides. I did try Grey's website but they do not show the guides. E-mails have gone unanswered. I had seen these in a fishing magazine advertisement for their new spinning rods.

No, no, no. These are very light guides with super thin ceramic rings. Nowhere near as heavy as any of those. Thanks for trying though.

Good luck, perhaps Greys will answer you and then we'll all know.

I have posted a request on a UK rod building forum... Perhaps someone there will know

Bill
I've had no success in identifying these guides.
