Batson // ALPS Rod chuck

Which of the distributors are carrying the new ALPS chuck? I tried to go through here to FISHSTICKS but there is an internal server error. This looks like the upgrade I've been hoping for!

I just saw that ALPS Upgraded rod lathe chuck today in the Batson newsletter.

I really like how they included the multiple drier speed pully upgrade and I see that their chuck jaws are tapped so the little extra jaw gizmos are held on with screws.

Kudos to the Batson Team for a very well done upgrade!

This does look like a good improvement. Guess I might need to do a little upgrade!

I ordered one (and am thinking about a second). I like the idea of replacing the mount along with the chuck. I also like the idea of the multiple pulleys on both the dryer motor and the back of the chuck. My original lathe has a plastic/nylon support. I upgraded the second wrapper with a PacBay chuck the first year they were available. It's better than the original but this one looks even better and the price is good.

Apparently these are currently hard to come by. I got a note from Karry Batson that they are currently out of stock. Next shipment is expected circa Sept 22-nd. Wonder where they all went as I don't remember a lot of "press" / reviews
