Only thing you did wrong was buy rod blanks off an @#$%& site. No way to know who you are buying from or if the blanks are really what they are described as being. Sure to be some good deals there but also sure to be some bad deals there. You got one of those last ones! Re: Crooked Blanks

If the blanks are any good at all you won't be able to straighten them. The resins used to make fishing rods is not a "hot melt" type of product. You can't heat it and then expect it to re-harden to its original state. Nor can you flex and warp a good blank to take out any set from the opposite side.
They are what they are. A slight bend or overall curve or warp is of no concern really. Bad warp and sudden crooks indicate a less than first quality product. .............. Re: Crooked Blanks

if they are not - that - bad you can roll them on a flat surface and when the tip comes up pointing to the sky, mark that as the top. When guides go on it may straighten it out some. just depends on how bad they are.
The good stuff is on the left !! Bill - willierods.com Re: Crooked Blanks

To get the real goods go to the left. Time is money and who wants to try and straighten out a crooked blank to save a dime Good Wraps Bob Re: Crooked Blanks

Or you could build on them and call them something like "Fine Caster", let people know it's a new innovation, twice as good as anything on the market, tested by pros and make yourself a fortune!! Wait a minute........I've got some bent blanks right here...... Re: Crooked Blanks

Hey Grant you can tell the customer those rods are called corner rods because they can cast behind corners, piling or brush piles with no effort LOL::))) Good Wraps Bob Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
