Howdy folks sorry for not being around much............let's get right down to it. I have a gentleman who won a raffle for a custom rod, built by me, that I donated to my nephews wife for an Autism awareness fair that she was having. I spoke to the man and he's wanting a 5 foot, 2 weight fly rod in a maroon / mauve color. He's targeting native brookies in the very small creeks here in the mountains of WV. I already have an email in to Batson's but wanted to get a few other suggestions as well. I'm pretty sure he's wanting a 2 pc to pack in and out easily. I was wondering about getting a 3 pc and leave off the butt section of a longer rod, but I'm afraid that might make the rod too stiff. I also know that I can paint the blank, but I'm really hoping to get a prefinished one to save weight on such a light rod. If anyone has such a blank or knows where I could get one I certainly would be appreciative!!!
Thanks, Bill in WV Re: Need Small Fly Blank Suggestions........

i know the tiger eye blanks have that color. i cant remember if they have one that short. try schneiders on the left. another option is fishsticks as scott has a bunch of ATC blanks in that color. you will have to check with him to see if he has anything to fit your needs Re: Need Small Fly Blank Suggestions........

I would go with Mick above. He may have to CCS a three piece Drop the butt, to get you a two piece ??
Or one other supplier. maybe an Extra light two piece spin blank ??? Bill - willierods.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
